Who we are
Archbishop Williams High School is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory, grades 7-12 school and recently celebrated its 75th anniversary during the 2024-25 academic year!
We endeavor to educate young men and women spiritually, intellectually, ethically, and physically. Driven by the love of Christ, in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, we integrate learning with faith. We strive to graduate socially aware, morally responsible citizens prepared to succeed and to serve their local and global communities.
AWHS offers a fully-aligned, rigorous six-year academic program for students coming from 56 different cities and towns. With a well-balanced curriculum at the College Preparatory, Accelerated, Honors, and Advanced Placement levels, AWHS continues to give the young men and women who walk through its doors the prospect and ability to pursue not only higher educational opportunities but also their dreams.
AWHS has an exemplary co-curricular tradition. AWHS fans have had much to celebrate over the years as their athletic teams have brought home state and league championships, most recently being named Division III Boys' Basketball State Champions in 2023! Students have won state and national awards in the fine and performing arts and co-curricular activities range from Robotics to Foreign Language Clubs, from Tech Crew to Student Government, and Diversity and Equity Club to Model UN.
AWHS looks forward to a bright future. Our past is a rich heritage of academic, spiritual, and athletic excellence; and our future is just as promising. The School has spent $22+ million in campus improvements over the last ten years, including but not limited to the Ted Healy '86 Sports Complex, the Mother Catherine Spalding Auditorium, the Volpe Gymnasium, the Stephen J. McGrath '71 Student Center and Nazareth Hall. Additionally, AWHS has been on an enrollment waitlist for the last 4 consecutive years, and it is recommended that families adhere to the posted admission deadlines.
We look forward to meeting you on campus soon! Go Bishops!
