Who we are

Thank you for your interest in The Waldorf School of Atlanta!

Applications for 2026-27 are open. We will also accept enrollments for the current school year based on availability.

The Waldorf School of Atlanta develops life-long learners by fostering in each student the ability to think with clarity, feel with compassion, and act with purpose in the world. Our school, which serves 180 students, is located on a 5-acre campus in Decatur. We are part of an international movement of Waldorf Schools that started more than 100 years ago. Take a tour of our school and observe our mission in action!

In our Early Childhood programs, we support the healthy growth of young minds and bodies by nurturing a sense of wonder, while instilling reverence and joy in a home-like and rhythmic atmosphere. We focus on social/emotional development, linguistic and cognitive skills, and the development of fine and gross motor movement in a creative and loving environment.

In the Elementary Grades (1-5), we engage children in the world of traditional academics through an experiential, movement-based, multi-disciplinary approach that supports each child's unique development. A class teacher stays with the class for multiple years, and specialists round out the curriculum with subjects such as Spanish, movement, handwork, art, drama, and choral and instrumental music.

In the Middle School Grades (6-8), we promote a courageous exploration of the self and the community during this phase of adolescence where students begin to understand themselves and their place in the world. Through academic, fine and practical arts, and other specialty classes, we provide a human-centered and artistic approach to education, engaging a student's will to persevere and approach the world with flexibility and creativity. After-school sports programs, class plays, class trips and hands-on experience with coding, round out the middle school experience.

We invite you to discover more about our school and educational philosophy by exploring our website and social media pages (WSA Facebook and WSA on Instagram).

We are delighted to have an opportunity to partner with you in the education of your child - head, heart and hands!
