Greetings from EBIHS & EBGIS
EBIHS and EBGIS are international, college-preparatory schools rooted in academic excellence, multilingual education, and a strong sense of global citizenship. Our community values curiosity, cultural understanding, and close relationships between students, faculty, and families.
With intentionally small class sizes and an international faculty, students are known, supported, and challenged as individuals. Our campuses foster a calm, focused learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and personally.
East Bay International High School (Grades 9–12)
East Bay International High School is a college-preparatory high school offering the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to all students. Instruction is primarily in English, and no prior foreign language experience is required to join our community.
Students may choose from multiple language pathways, including French, German, Spanish, and introductory Mandarin, with offerings for beginner through native-level learners. Students who pursue language and literature in both English and a second language may earn the highly regarded Bilingual IB Diploma.
In grades 9 and 10, students complete a rigorous preparatory curriculum that emphasizes academic writing, critical thinking, and advanced coursework, including Advanced Placement opportunities. In grades 11 and 12, all students complete the full IB Diploma Programme.
Graduates of IB programs are admitted to top universities in the United States and abroad at significantly higher rates than non-IB peers, and EBIHS students may earn college credit through AP and IB coursework. The EBIHS curriculum exceeds admissions requirements for universities in many countries worldwide.
EBIHS is fully accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
East Bay German International School (Preschool–Grade 8)
East Bay German International School offers a dual-language German–English immersion program from preschool through eighth grade. Students benefit from strong academics, project-based learning, and an international perspective beginning in early childhood.
The program combines German curriculum foundations, literature-rich English Language Arts, and interdisciplinary learning. Advanced science topics begin as early as fifth grade, and a third language, Spanish or French, is introduced in sixth grade.
Our early childhood and elementary programs emphasize curiosity, creativity, and foundational academic skills within a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment.
