Explorer West is a welcoming, independent middle school in West Seattle, serving grades 6 through 8. For over 30 years, we’ve provided a supportive environment where students are deeply known and challenged to grow—academically, socially, and personally.

Our teachers specialize in early adolescence and are committed to meeting students where they are, building on their strengths, and encouraging them to stretch beyond their comfort zones. With small class sizes and a personalized approach, we create strong relationships and ensure every student feels like a valued member of the community.
