Who we are
At Kehillah, you get to...
When an independent Jewish high school is intentionally built around curiosity, contribution, and community...
You get to discover who you are, what you love, and what you're capable of. And you'll be ready for whatever comes next.
Our students and alumni say it best:
"School has meant so much to me. I have really been able to grow as a person here. Like my own personal experience in math, challenging myself and skipping levels, and I am now in Calculus BC junior year. I know I wouldn't have been able to do that elsewhere."
- Stella, Class of 2027
"Teachers will explain until you understand. I learn a lot better in a more engaging environment. I'm going from one honors class this year to almost all honors next year. The teachers listen and help you do anything."
- Leo, Class of 2029
“At Kehillah you can be your own person and pursue whatever you want to the fullest extent that you want without the peer pressure most schools have. Students learn because they really want to. In my Linear Algebra class, Mr G. assigns videos to watch for homework with no accountability, yet every student shows up having watched the videos simply because they want to learn. In the KAT Physics C class, they’re learning complex analysis simply because they’re interested. It’s like intrinsic, chill rigor.”
- Jenna, Class of 2027
“At Kehillah you’re more able to pursue what you are interested in, not what other people think is important for you. You have a more fulfilling life when you have the opportunity to take classes in what you care about and figure out who you are and what you like through your activities and clubs. I knew I wanted to be active in school life and spread my wings, and I get to do that here.”
- Josh, Class of 2027
"The Jewish education I've been fortunate enough to receive never created a bubble. It created a bridge."
- Charlotte, Kehillah Class of 2026, Brown University
“In Palo Alto, it’s very easy to feel extreme pressure to perform and do everything you think will look good on a college application. However, in my opinion high school shouldn’t just be a segue to college; it’s its own four years. When I tried activities because I thought I was supposed to, I felt intense burnout and I did not enjoy myself. The most fulfilling extracurriculars I did were ones I chose out of pure interest or passion, and I ended up taking those so much further due to the intrinsic motivation I felt to go beyond. And, even from a college application standpoint, I think schools can distinguish between true interest and just trying to be impressive. Having genuine interest and intention will pay off for you and for your college process.”
-Jessie, Kehillah Class of 2026, Stanford University
The best way to understand Kehillah is to experience it. We invite you to visit for a private family tour, attend an Open House, join a Kehillah Conversation, experience a Shadow Day, and meet the students and teachers who bring this community to life.
