Who we are
At Brighton School, we don’t just teach—we inspire a lifelong love of learning. As one of the leading private preschools, elementary, and middle schools in Mountlake Terrace, we provide a seamless journey from preschool through 8th grade, giving students a strong academic and social foundation that prepares them for future success.
Our student-centered approach ensures every child is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Small class sizes allow teachers to truly know their students, offering personalized attention that fosters confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Fully accredited by Cognia, Brighton provides a vibrant, nurturing environment where curiosity is sparked, creativity is encouraged, and hands-on, dynamic lessons bring learning to life.
Our robust specialty programs in STEAM, world languages, and more broaden students’ skills and ignite their imagination. Learning at Brighton also extends far beyond the classroom. Inspired by the wonder of the Pacific Northwest, our students explore nature through field trips to Mt. St. Helens, the San Juan Islands, the Hoh Rainforest, and Mt. Rainier, while winter activities like our Friday Ski School encourage growth through adventure and discovery.
Students develop meaningful connections with local Native American tribes and cultures, from exploring Salish symbols in Pre-K to studying the history of coastal tribes in Middle School. Through our salmon cycle project, they raise salmon from eggs to young fish and release them into nearby streams, gaining hands-on experience with science, history, and environmental stewardship.
At Brighton, these immersive experiences—combined with a rigorous academic program and individualized attention- help students appreciate the Pacific Northwest’s rich natural and cultural heritage, foster a lifelong love of learning, and equip them to exceed expectations and embrace the future with confidence.
