Who we are
San Francisco Waldorf School is an education built on relationships. SFWS is made up of about 350 students from across the Bay Area, making it one of the largest Waldorf schools in North America. SFWS serves families on their educational journey from Preschool through High School.
At every age and grade level, we emphasize hands-on experiences and creative thinking, integrating the arts across the curriculum and encouraging students to ask deep questions of themselves and others. We believe that education should support the development of the whole human being and provide balance in its approach by integrating courses across academic disciplines—including science, mathematics, language, nature, movement, and the arts—our students cultivate independence, self-knowledge, reverence for the world’s beauty, and creative, analytical, and critical faculties.
San Francisco Waldorf School goes beyond the classroom.
Our experiences last a lifetime.
At SFWS, students learn how to learn: they are taught how to think, not what to think. They ask questions, check facts, challenge assumptions, and become adept at synthesizing information. They collaborate to find new solutions with a uniquely human combination of imagination and reason.
