Who we are
San Francisco Waldorf School is made up of about 400 students from across the Bay Area, making it one of the largest Waldorf schools in North America. SFWS serves families on their educational journey from Preschool through High School. We recognize students as whole people, with intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual questions. We believe that education should support the development of the whole human being and provide balance in its approach by not just offering but integrating courses across academic disciplines, including science, mathematics, humanities, language, nature, movement, and the arts.
Our teaching goes beyond the classroom.
Our experiences last a lifetime.
At SFWS, students learn how to learn: they are taught how to think, not what to think. They ask questions, check facts, challenge assumptions, and become adept at synthesizing information. They collaborate to find new solutions with a uniquely human combination of imagination and reason.
